After playing solo folk & blues in his hometown of Denver, Denis moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he played in The Rough Riders bluegrass band and various rock & blues cover bands at venues that included The Fillmore West, the Haight Street Fair, and Bimbos. Since he caught the Songwriting bug, Denis has written songs that have earned awards and commendations from American Songwriter Magazine, Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), West Coast Songwriters, and UNISONG. And his heartfelt and thoughtful story-oriented songs have been licensed to Nashville publishers, Film & TV, theater, music libraries, and to the statewide not-for-profit organization, California CASA that serves abused and neglected children in the foster care system Denis now resides in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he is pursuing his love of songwriting, and is currently self-producing a soon-to-be-released solo guitar/ vocal album of his music.
